August 1. That's the date we're aiming at to be out of our home here in New York. So we've been packing like mad and clearing out a lot of stuff from our house. We're leaving some things here in our house while we're in Kenya working at Tenwek Mission Hospital - so the photo above shows you our strategy for moving back and forth from Africa. We're also packing things FOR Kenya. Clothes for everyone for the next few years including those of us who are growing like weeds, school curriculum for the kids, things not readily available in Kenya (or that are just much cheaper here) - it's an interesting task. Friday we head to the Travel Clinic in town to get everyone up to date on their "I don't want to get some tropical sickness" shots. Caleb is in for a bad day I'm afraid.
Our hope is to be out of our home by August 1 with all of our financial needs met, spend time in August with family (with one more week of work to pay the bills) and then fly out to Kenya sometime in September - God willing. We are also making plans to pack a shipping container with two other families who are heading to Tenwek - bringing items that are difficult or expensive to obtain in Kenya.
Thanks to all who have been so supportive and encouraging to us. It is a wild ride doing what we know God is asking us to do with our lives.
